Listen to Co-Owner Asano Otsu discuss her early days of learning curve with Sourdough baking with Yellowstone Public Radio - Flavor under the Big Sky host Stella Fong here:
In the summer of 2024, Everyday Foods took an exciting step forward by bringing Maya Crosby onto the ownership team. Moving forward, we are anticipating a lot of exciting new happenings for our little wholesale bakery business! Stay in touch with us by signing up for our intermittent email blasts, until then, here are a little bit more about our co-owners:
Born out of passion to create - Asano shares her life experiences through her creative original food. Authentic New American Food means fusing her childhood memories of Japan, her Outdoor Education years with Outward Bound Wilderness and all the experiences from businesses and organizations that she worked with in
Red Lodge, Montana for the last decade. When she's not in the kitchen slinging breads or creating concoctions - you might find Asano riding her bicycles or getting out on backcountry skis to explore the Beartooth Mountains with her partner Paul.
As a youngster, Maya learned to bake bread in her mom's kindergarten classroom, early in the morning before students arrived. Born in Crested Butte, CO, she grew up learning the foundations of cooking from her dad while he ran various kitchens in the Gunnison Valley. Meanwhile at home, as long as Maya ate it, she was allowed to bake it. With access to ingredients and free reign in the kitchen, Maya taught herself to bake, graduating from cookie dough to sourdough, learning from many teachers along the way. In Red Lodge, you might find Maya volunteering for DSVS, coaching for the Silver Run Freeride Team, or making laps at Red Lodge Mountain with her partner Ben.
